Mary Black Bonnet is a compassionate and dedicated therapist who has experience in helping individuals overcome some of life’s biggest challenges.  Mary is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

With a warm and empathetic approach, Mary works collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that promote growth and healing. While navigating difficult, challenging or painful issues, Mary offers guidance, support and encouragement every step of the way; so you know you are not alone. As a Lakota therapist, Mary has worked with some important issues such as PTSD, Complex PTSD, Grief and loss, cultural trauma, cultural identity, MMIW and sex trafficking, adoption and cross-cultural adoption, generational trauma, two spirit, Miscarriage, Deafness/HOH, life transitions, TBI, acquired disability, spirituality, infertility, sexual abuse, self-harming and women’s issues.  Mary is a Deaf therapist who is able to offer services to our Deaf community in ASL if desired.

Mary uses modalities to fit the individual she is working with. She does use such approaches as narrative, humanistic, person centered, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, art/writing, cultural, nature and motivational enhancement.

Mary received her master’s in clinical social work from the University of South Dakota in May of 2023 and is a proud member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and the Deaf community.
